Datavault AI posts 287% revenue rise but reports $88M Q2 net loss

Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $6.7 million, a 287% increase from $1.7 million in the same period a year earlier, according to a company press release. Gross profit rose to $2.9 million from $35,000 in Q2 2025.

Operating expenses increased substantially during the quarter. Research and development costs rose to $7.2 million from $4.2 million, sales and marketing expenses climbed to $7.2 million from $1.7 million, and general and administrative expenses increased to $14.9 million from $6.5 million year-over-year. The company recorded a net loss of $88 million for the quarter, compared with a net loss of $37.1 million in Q2 2025. The Q2 2026 net loss included a $56.4 million impairment of investments in non-marketable securities and an $8.1 million loss on crypto assets.

The company reiterated its full-year 2026 revenue target of at least $200 million, which it described as approximately 400% growth year-over-year. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $1.4 million as of June 30, 2026, down from $2.0 million at December 31, 2025. The company held $49 million in crypto assets at quarter end, compared with $92.2 million at year-end 2025. The accumulated deficit reached $518.6 million as of June 30, 2026.

During the quarter, Datavault AI completed the acquisition of NYIAX, a blockchain-based advertising contract exchange, and entered into a definitive agreement to acquire CyberCatch Holdings, Inc. in an all-cash transaction. The company also announced plans to tokenize Available Infrastructure's Project Qestrel, a planned network of 1,000 edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities, using utility tokens designated as $QEST.

The company appointed Barry Childe as Chief Information Security Officer and Dean Becker as Chief Licensing Officer. Datavault AI also continued its partnership with Fiserv to integrate payment and settlement capabilities and expanded its edge computing deployments with Available Infrastructure beyond initial New York and Philadelphia sites.
