American Express (NYSE: AXP) has announced a partnership with St Andrews Links Trust, under which the payments company will serve as the Official Payments Partner of the Scottish golf destination.

Through the agreement, eligible Platinum Card and Centurion Members — including Consumer, Business, and Corporate cardholders in select countries — will have access to an American Express-exclusive application window for a chance to purchase a golf package for themselves and one guest at select St Andrews Links courses in 2027, including the Old Course.

The exclusive application window opens Aug. 26 at 10am BST for eligible Centurion Members and Sept. 2 at 10am BST for eligible Platinum Card Members, closing at 11:59pm BST on Sept. 9. Selected applicants will be chosen via the same random draw mechanism used in St Andrews' existing Swilcan Package process and will have approximately seven days after notification to purchase a golf package. Perks for selected members include complimentary pull trolleys and a customized photography gift from the Old Course round. Golf handicap restrictions and terms apply.

St Andrews Links Trust stated that existing tee time access for local golfers and other traditional access routes will not be affected, and the trust's affordable golf initiatives will continue.

St Andrews Links Trust manages eight golf courses, including the Old Course, which has hosted golf's oldest major championship 30 times, with the next scheduled for 2027. The trust records more than 290,000 rounds played annually across its courses.
