Ramaco Resources signs non-binding MOU with Bedrock Semiconductor

August 18, 2026 8:31 AM

Ramaco Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ: METC, METCB) has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Bedrock Semiconductor Inc. to explore a potential gallium supply relationship tied to Ramaco's Brook Mine project in Wyoming, according to a press release dated Aug. 18, 2026.

The MOU outlines a framework for negotiating the supply of gallium feedstock or other critical minerals from the Brook Mine, an exploration-stage rare earth and critical mineral property near Sheridan, Wyoming. No binding supply or offtake agreements have been executed, and any future arrangements are contingent on due diligence, negotiation of definitive agreements, and successful development of the Brook Mine.

Bedrock Semiconductor, based in Pennsylvania, develops gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductor materials and devices, including high-voltage GaN-on-GaN power devices intended for use in data centers, electric vehicles, and renewable energy systems. Troy Baker, CEO of Bedrock, noted in the statement that over 95% of gallium is currently produced in China, and that the Brook Mine is expected to meet Bedrock's gallium demand "for decades to come."

Randall Atkins, Chairman and CEO of Ramaco Resources, said the MOU reflects the company's intent to align its mineral resources with demand from domestic semiconductor manufacturers.

Ramaco Resources operates four metallurgical coal mining complexes in Central Appalachia and holds the Brook Mine as an exploration-stage property. The company cautioned that no assurance can be given that the Brook Mine will be developed into a commercial-scale mine or that estimated mineral resources will be converted into mineral reserves.
