Mizuho Reiterates Outperform Rating on Uber Inc. (UBER)

August 18, 2026 6:17 AM

Mizuho analyst Lloyd Walmsley reiterated an Outperform rating and $112.00 price target on Uber Inc. (NYSE: UBER).

The analyst comments "Our takeaway from recent AV developments remains broadly constructive for Uber., We continue to view AV disruption risk as a very long-duration debate rather than a near-term earnings issue. While Robotaxi unit economics continue to improve and AV adoption is growing, scaling robotaxi supply requires not only vehicle production but also charging, parking, maintenance, and local regulatory approvals, making deployment inherently slow. We believe 2026 remains an important proof year for Uber's multi-partner AV strategy. Continued expansion with Pony.ai, WeRide and other non-Waymo partners should increase investor confidence that the long-term AV ecosystem is likely to support multiple suppliers rather than a winner-take-all outcome. While diversification may take time, ongoing operational data points, particularly from San Francisco, reinforce our view AV adoption can expand the overall category without necessarily undermining Uber's platform position. Shares already discount meaningful disruption, holding up well Monday despite reports of Tesla's August cybercab launch."
