Xos, Inc. (NASDAQ: XOS) has been awarded a prototype Other Transaction Agreement by the United States Air Force to develop and deliver a deployable mobile charging solution for electrified support equipment and vehicles, according to a company statement.

The contract was awarded through the Air Force Global Strike Command Rapid Capabilities Division 2026 Showcase, a program designed to evaluate and field commercial technologies. The agreement marks Xos's first contract with the U.S. Air Force.

Under the agreement, Xos will adapt its Xos Hub™ mobile battery energy storage system for defense applications. The system will provide high-capacity, grid-independent charging without requiring permanent infrastructure. Assembly and integration will take place at the company's facility in Byrdstown, Tennessee, with the period of performance extending into late 2027.

When the United States Air Force evaluates the market and selects our technology, it confirms what we set out to build from day one: a mobile energy platform proven in commercial operations that can meet the most demanding mission requirements in the field," said Dakota Semler, Chief Executive Officer of Xos.

The Xos Hub has previously been deployed across commercial fleets, ports, and municipalities. The company said it intends to pursue additional defense and government opportunities following this award.
