Charles Schwab reports $13 trillion in client assets for July 2026

The Charles Schwab Corporation (NYSE: SCHW) reported total client assets of $13.04 trillion at the end of July 2026, up 19% from July 2025 and roughly flat compared to June 2026, according to the company's monthly activity report.

Core net new assets reached $58.1 billion in July, a 24% increase from the same month a year earlier, which the company described as a record for that month. Total net new assets were $60.1 billion, up 32% year-over-year.

New brokerage accounts opened in July totaled 417,000, an 11% increase from July 2025, though down 15% from June 2026. Active brokerage accounts stood at 39.9 million at month-end, up 6% from a year earlier.

Client daily average trades in July were 11.6 million, up 61% from July 2025. Client margin loan balances rose to $169.9 billion by month-end, a 51% increase from year-end 2025 levels.

Transactional sweep cash fell by $8.9 billion during the month to $476.8 billion, which the company attributed to client net purchasing activity and seasonal factors related to advisory fee payments.

Total money market fund balances were $695.3 billion at month-end, up 6% from July 2025. Average interest-earning assets for the month were $449.9 billion, up 8% year-over-year.
