A10 Networks launches AI gateway for model routing and cost control

August 13, 2026 9:01 AM

A10 Networks (NYSE: ATEN) announced the general availability of the A10 AI Gateway, a centralized control plane designed to give organizations unified routing, cost management, and governance across AI agents, applications, and large language models (LLMs).

The product was introduced at Black Hat USA 2026 in Las Vegas, where it was displayed alongside A10's broader AI portfolio, including the TrojAI by A10 Networks security platform.

The A10 AI Gateway is designed to route each AI request to a model based on the complexity of the task, directing simpler requests to lower-cost models and more complex tasks to higher-capability ones. The product also includes identity-based access controls that apply routing and usage policies by individual user or group, synchronized with existing directory systems.

Additional features include real-time per-request cost tracking in dollars, per-model and per-team token budgets with hard and soft limits, and business-layer rate limiting enforced per key or team.

The product is delivered as software or with integrated hardware and runs within the customer's own environment, including on-premises, private cloud, or air-gapped deployments.

"Enterprises are being asked to move fast on AI and stay in control at the same time," said Dhrupad Trivedi, president and CEO of A10 Networks. "The A10 AI Gateway gives organizations one intelligent control plane to see how AI is being used, to govern who can access which models, and match every request to the right model at the right cost."

The A10 AI Gateway is positioned as a complement to A10's existing TrojAI and ThreatX security products, which the company says address AI security across deployment, runtime, and network layers.

The product is available now, according to the company's press release.
