Sharplink to stake $200M in ETH via Lido protocol
Sharplink, Inc. (Nasdaq: SBET) announced it will stake $200 million worth of Ether through Lido, a liquid staking protocol on Ethereum, according to a press release dated Aug. 13, 2026.
In exchange, Sharplink will receive wrapped staked ETH (wstETH), a token representing staked ETH and its associated staking rewards. The wstETH will be held in custody with Anchorage Digital.
Lido holds approximately $16.5 billion of ETH staked through its protocol and its wstETH token is integrated across more than 100 protocols, with roughly $10 billion in active use as collateral.
Joseph Chalom, Chief Executive Officer of Sharplink, said the move adds "a staking protocol of Lido's caliber" to the company's treasury strategy and provides "access to one of the most liquid and widely integrated assets in Ethereum DeFi."
The allocation adds Lido to Sharplink's existing staking and restaking strategy, which the company says is aimed at making its ETH treasury more productive for shareholders. wstETH can be used across Ethereum's decentralized finance ecosystem while the underlying ETH continues to earn staking rewards.
