Robinhood July 2026: crypto volumes drop, equity trades rise
Robinhood Markets, Inc. (NASDAQ: HOOD) reported monthly operating data for July 2026, showing mixed trading activity across asset classes, according to a company press release.
Funded customers reached 28.5 million at the end of July, up approximately 80,000 from June and up approximately 1.77 million year-over-year. The figure excludes Trump Accounts, a custody product Robinhood began tracking separately.
Total platform assets stood at $355 billion, down 4% from June but up 19% year-over-year. Starting in July 2026, the figure includes Trump Account assets held in custody at Robinhood. Net deposits were $5.6 billion in July, representing an 18% annualized growth rate relative to June's total platform assets. Over the trailing twelve months, net deposits totaled $74.9 billion, a 25% annual growth rate.
Equity notional trading volumes were $333 billion, down 15% from June but up 59% year-over-year. Options contracts traded totaled 324 million, up 2% from June and up 66% year-over-year.
Crypto notional trading volumes fell sharply to $10.9 billion, down 33% from June and down 62% year-over-year. The Robinhood app accounted for $4.3 billion of that total, down 38% from June and down 74% year-over-year, while Bitstamp contributed $6.6 billion, down 30% from June and down 45% year-over-year.
Event contracts traded were 6.1 billion, down 5% from June but up 20 times year-over-year.
Margin balances at month-end were $20.7 billion, down 4% from June but up 82% year-over-year. Cash and deposit balances were $19.5 billion, up 4% from June. Cash sweep balances were $29.2 billion, down 2% from June and down 13% year-over-year.
Total securities lending revenue in July was $40 million, down 2% from June and down 34% year-over-year.
