Calix adds scam protection tools to its SmartHome portfolio

August 12, 2026 3:00 PM

Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) has added two services to its SmartHome portfolio — ScamWatchIQ and ScamPRO — aimed at helping internet service providers protect subscribers from online scams and identity theft.

ScamWatchIQ is included with SmartHome and provides subscribers with alerts about emerging scams, identity threats, and email account compromises. ScamPRO is a premium add-on that offers expert validation, recovery, and identity-theft resolution services. Both products are integrated into the Calix One platform and accessible through the CommandIQ mobile app.

According to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, imposter scams were the most frequently reported type of fraud for the ninth consecutive year in 2025, with Americans reporting nearly $16 billion in total fraud losses that year.

The new offerings expand Calix's existing SmartHome lineup, which includes ProtectIQ, a network protection service launched in 2019 that the company says blocks an average of 75 million cyber threats annually. Other SmartHome services include ExperienceIQ for content controls, Bark for child online safety, and HomeOfficeIQ for remote work security.

Andy Hulscher, chief operations officer at Alliance Communications, a Calix customer, said the new tools could help address "growing risks of online scams and identity compromise" and provide "a level of protection and support capabilities that would be difficult for us to deliver on our own."

Shane Eleniak, chief product officer at Calix, said the expansion gives providers the ability to "deepen their relationships by extending their role from the connected home into broader risks that increasingly target subscribers directly."

Calix noted in the press release that the ScamPRO service is powered by partner Iris Powered by Generali, and that Calix and service providers are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or effectiveness of that service.
