Fabric.AI and Kopin sign new NDAs for Neural I/o optical interconnect
Fabric.AI (NASDAQ: FABC) and Kopin Corporation (NASDAQ: KOPN) announced the signing of several new non-disclosure agreements with prospective industry participants in their joint Neural I/o optical interconnect program, according to a press release dated Aug. 12, 2026.
The new NDAs include agreements with companies that are currently part of Nvidia's NVLink ecosystem. The agreements expand the group of companies evaluating potential applications of Neural I/o within AI infrastructure.
Neural I/o is a MicroLED-based optical interconnect platform being developed jointly by Fabric.AI and Kopin. The platform is designed to move data between GPUs, accelerators, memory, and other computing components using a parallel optical architecture as an alternative to conventional interconnect technologies.
Josh Silverman, Fabric.AI's chief executive officer, said the new agreements represent "another meaningful step in expanding industry engagement around Neural I/o," and noted the company is advancing the technology toward a planned demonstration at CES 2027.
Silverman added that the discussions provide "important opportunities to validate potential use cases, better understand integration requirements and expand the potential pathways toward commercialization."
Fabric.AI describes itself as an AI infrastructure company developing fabless semiconductor technologies. Kopin develops display and optical solutions and contributes its MicroLED technology and NeuralDisplay architecture to the Neural I/o initiative.
