Oracle Health launches AI patient portal in the U.S.

August 12, 2026 9:01 AM

Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) has made its AI-powered Oracle Health Patient Portal generally available in the U.S., the company announced. The portal integrates with Oracle's Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and allows patients to review medical records, schedule appointments, and receive plain-language summaries of diagnoses, test results, and treatment options.

The portal uses AI to respond to patient questions based on their existing health records. Patients can ask questions such as "How am I managing my diabetes?" and receive responses drawn from their clinical documentation. The system also supports natural-language appointment scheduling, allowing patients to request visits by describing their needs in conversational terms.

The AI is designed with guardrails that prevent it from providing diagnoses, medical advice, or treatment recommendations. When patients request such information, the system directs them to consult their healthcare provider or, in emergencies, to call 911. AI-generated text is visually marked and cites its sources. Oracle states that no personal medical data is stored outside its own system or shared with third-party AI models.

"By making it easy for patients to navigate their care and communicate digitally, we're also helping care teams reduce administrative burden and focus their time on what matters most: delivering the best possible care," said Seema Verma, executive vice president and general manager of Oracle Health and Life Sciences.

The portal is fully integrated with the Oracle Health EHR, meaning patient data remains within Oracle's clinical environment without requiring users to upload records to an external system. Features include visit summaries, medication tracking, lab trend visualization, and task management for upcoming appointments and follow-ups.

Oracle will showcase the portal and other products at the Oracle Health and Life Sciences Summit in Orlando, Florida, September 22–24, 2026.
