Intuit adds AI chat and new tools to its mid-market products
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq: INTU) announced an expansion of AI-powered capabilities across its mid-market products, including Intuit Enterprise Suite and QuickBooks Online Advanced, according to a company press release.
A new feature called Intuit Intelligence Chat allows finance teams to ask questions, surface anomalies, run reports, and initiate workflows in plain language. The tool uses a customer's business data to generate insights and can recommend next steps, but requires user confirmation before executing any action. The conversational chat interface is currently available in beta for eligible customers on both platforms.
QuickBooks Online Advanced now bundles bill pay, payments, business intelligence, and AI-driven bookkeeping into its core subscription. A new service called Books Upkeep runs continuously throughout the month to keep financial records current. Bill Pay Elite, which includes unlimited free ACH transfers and 1099 e-filing, is now included at no additional subscription cost for eligible customers who purchase directly through Intuit.
Intuit Enterprise Suite added multi-entity accounting capabilities in beta, including recurring templates and intercompany account mappings. Multi-currency support, also in beta, calculates realized and unrealized gains and losses in line with ASC 830 and IAS 21 accounting standards.
The company deepened industry-specific features for construction, manufacturing, and nonprofit sectors. Construction additions include real-time project profitability tracking and AI-generated estimates. Manufacturing features in beta include units of measure and multilevel bill of materials. Nonprofit additions include Balance Sheet by Dimension reporting in beta.
Intuit cited its 2026 Future of Finance Report, which found that high-growth, multi-entity business leaders are more than twice as likely to use AI in finance workflows compared to slower-growth peers.
The new capabilities are rolling out to U.S.-based customers, with broader availability varying by product, subscription tier, and geography.
