NeuroThera Labs receives Japanese patent for drug combination

August 12, 2026 8:26 AM

NeuroThera Labs Inc, a subsidiary of SciSparc Ltd. (NASDAQ: SPRC), has been granted a patent by the Japanese Patent Office for a pharmaceutical combination titled "Compositions and Methods for Potentiating Derivatives of 4-Aminophenols," according to a press release.

The patent covers pharmaceutical compositions combining 4-aminophenol derivatives, including paracetamol, with N-acylethanolamines. NeuroThera states the combinations are designed to enhance the analgesic and antipyretic effects of 4-aminophenol-based therapies and may potentially allow for lower effective doses while addressing dose-related side effects associated with existing treatments.

The grant extends NeuroThera's patent coverage to Japan as the company works to protect its combination-therapy platforms targeting pain, fever, and related conditions across global markets.

SciSparc, through its majority-owned subsidiary NeuroThera, is a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company also developing drug programs based on THC and non-psychoactive CBD, including treatments for Tourette syndrome, Alzheimer's disease, autism spectrum disorder, and status epilepticus.
