Safe Pro Group Inc. (NASDAQ: SPAI) announced it has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) to collaborate on AI-powered image analysis using uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).

The project, titled Unified Situational Intelligence: UAS Enabled Data for Operational, Disaster, and Mission Critical Analysis, focuses on using AI-powered object detection technologies with UAS sensors to collect data and produce analytic products supporting situational awareness and planning.

The agreement covers dual-use applications intended to serve both military operations and civil authorities, with an emphasis on engineering geospatial sciences, threat detection, and hazard identification for disaster response.

Safe Pro's SPOTD platform, which analyzes imagery and video from drones to detect and classify explosive threats, is central to the collaboration. The platform can identify more than 150 types of landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) and converts raw video into 2D/3D geospatial models. According to the company, SPOTD has been deployed in Ukraine for nearly three years and has processed over 2.9 million images, identified more than 54,328 threats, and covered approximately 37,900 acres.
