Veritone, Inc. (NASDAQ: VERI) and ZeroEyes have entered into a bi-directional referral partnership to combine ZeroEyes' real-time weapons detection platform with Veritone's post-event AI analysis tools, according to a press release from the companies.

Under the agreement, both companies will refer clients to each other's platforms, offering a combined approach to physical security that spans threat detection and post-incident investigation. ZeroEyes' software layers onto existing digital security cameras to identify brandished guns and knives. When a weapon is detected, images are routed to ZeroEyes' 24/7 U.S.-based operations center, staffed by military and law enforcement veterans, who verify threats and dispatch alerts to law enforcement and school administrators, often within seconds of detection.

Following an incident, Veritone's AI platform is intended to assist agencies in processing data for investigations and evidentiary purposes.

"By pairing ZeroEyes' real-time, proactive alerts with Veritone's advanced post-event analysis, we're equipping security and law enforcement professionals with the actionable intelligence to help manage every stage of an incident," said Ryan Steelberg, CEO of Veritone.

ZeroEyes CEO and cofounder Mike Lahiff said the partnership extends value "beyond the immediate threat" by giving customers tools for post-event analysis and investigation.

ZeroEyes, founded in 2018, holds a SAFETY Act Designation from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which it claims is the first full designation awarded to a video analytics technology. The platform recently expanded to include knife detection in addition to its existing firearm detection capability. The company says its platform is deployed across thousands of locations in the U.S., Mexico, the Caribbean, Latin America, and India.

Both companies have stated their platforms incorporate human verification in the detection and analysis process to reduce false positives.
