Four key things investors will watch in Nvidia's earnings next week
Investing.com -- Goldman Sachs said in a note Wednesday that investors will focus on several key issues when Nvidia reports its latest quarterly results on August 26, from its newly announced financing platform to the shape of its Rubin product ramp.
Analyst James Schneider reiterated a Buy rating and $285 price target on NVDA, expecting "a solid quarter with meaningful upside to guidance supported by tight GPU supply/demand trends."
He cautioned, however, that "the bar for the stock is elevated given its +12% move in two weeks."
The first area of focus is Nvidia's recently announced $500 billion financing platform with partners, aimed at supporting AI infrastructure buildouts.
Schneider said company commentary suggests Nvidia may provide a residual-value support mechanism for up to 25% of an opportunity, and that investors will seek details on "the maximum scope of Nvidia's capital commitment" and any impact on buybacks and dividends.
Second, the firm expects focus on the shape of the Rubin ramp in the second half and 2027, and evidence of adoption "in new customer cohorts (AI labs, neoclouds, sovereigns)."
Third, Goldman flagged gross margin trends, noting Nvidia has posted margins above 75% for two quarters despite upward pressure on input costs, "most notably HBM memory."
Fourth, it expects attention on CPU demand driven by agentic AI, with Nvidia's CPU-only racks expected to begin shipping in the second half.
Goldman said its calendar 2026 and 2027 estimates sit 6% and 19% above the Street, and it also expects investors to watch competitive trends from AMD and custom ASICs.
