Bank of America launches $250B infrastructure finance initiative

August 12, 2026 6:00 AM

Bank of America (NYSE: BAC) announced a $250 billion Critical Infrastructure Finance Initiative to mobilize capital for U.S. infrastructure development over 18 months, running from 2026 through July 4, 2027, according to a company statement.

The initiative will cover three categories: digital infrastructure, including data centers, semiconductors and telecommunications; energy and power infrastructure, including conventional and renewable power generation and storage; and core infrastructure, such as transportation, water systems, grid optimization and critical minerals.

Financial activity will include primary market lending, investing, capital markets, banking and advisory solutions. Progress will be measured using the same methodology applied to the bank's existing $1.5 trillion ten-year sustainable finance goal.

"Meeting America's growing infrastructure needs requires mobilizing capital at scale across increasingly interconnected sectors," said Karen Fang, Global Head of Infrastructure and Sustainable Finance and Co-Head of Global Capital Solutions at Bank of America.

The effort will be led by Bank of America's Global Capital Solutions and Global Infrastructure and Sustainable Finance teams, with support across all eight of the bank's lines of business.

Bank of America said the initiative is expected to help create tens of thousands of jobs. The bank reported that in 2025 it invested nearly $40 million in more than 730 workforce development partners across 97 U.S. markets, which those partners estimate helped connect more than 90,000 people to employment opportunities.
