Greenland Mines Ltd (Nasdaq: GRML) announced that drilling has commenced at its Skaergaard palladium, gold and platinum project in southeast Greenland, marking the start of its 2026 field season.

The company's support vessel Argus arrived at the site after crossing the Denmark Strait. Equipment and machinery were transferred ashore, safety inductions were completed, and diamond drill rigs supplied by Nordisk Fundering, including two new heli-portable units, are now operating. The company said the first holes of the season are expected to be completed within days.

A technical report summary published in July 2026, prepared by SLR Consulting (Canada) Ltd. in compliance with S-K 1300, outlined an Indicated resource of 153.6 million tonnes grading 3.04 grams per tonne palladium equivalent for 15.00 million ounces, and an Inferred resource of 177.5 million tonnes grading 3.07 grams per tonne palladium equivalent for 17.49 million ounces.

The 2026 field program is designed to support resource upgrading, advance metallurgical studies through bulk sampling, and generate environmental and geotechnical data needed to move the project toward an Initial Assessment under S-K 1300. No Initial Assessment has been completed, no mineral reserve has been declared, and no production decision has been made.

Greenland Mines holds its interest through subsidiary Major Precious Greenland A/S, which owns 80% of the three Mineral Exploration Licenses covering the project, with an option to acquire the remaining 20%.

The company also holds a First Right of Refusal on the Helguvik industrial complex in Iceland, which it describes as a potential downstream processing site roughly 400 kilometers from the project. The company does not own that facility.

Greenland Mines also operates a Biotech division and is pursuing the acquisition of the Sarfartoq rare earths project in Greenland, a transaction that has not yet closed. Assay results from the current drilling program are pending.
