Abbott and Google Health partner on glucose monitoring and AI health tools

Abbott (NYSE: ABT) and Google Health announced a multi-year partnership combining Abbott's Lingo continuous glucose monitor (CGM) with Google's artificial intelligence technology, according to a press release issued Aug. 11, 2026.

Under the agreement, Lingo users will be able to view glucose data alongside other health metrics within the Google Health app. Google's Health Coach, which requires a Google Health Premium subscription, will use those glucose insights to deliver personalized recommendations related to nutrition, activity, sleep, and recovery.

The partnership also includes a large-scale real-world metabolic health research study integrating continuous glucose, wearable, laboratory, and survey data. The companies said findings from the study will be used to inform AI-powered guidance and future Lingo product features.

Lingo is an over-the-counter CGM available to individuals 18 and older who are not using insulin. It is not intended for the diagnosis of diseases, including diabetes. The device is currently sold in the U.S. and U.K. through retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Walgreens, and Publix.

"Abbott's leadership in biowearables and Google's expertise in AI and consumer technology create a powerful opportunity to make personalized insights available at unprecedented scale," said Olivier Ropars, divisional vice president of Abbott's Lingo business.

Rishi Chandra, vice president and general manager of Google Health, said the collaboration aims to turn "complex health information into personalized guidance that people can use every day."

Lingo integrations are expected to roll out in the Google Health app later in 2026. The CDC reported in its 2026 National Diabetes Statistics Report that more than 115 million American adults have prediabetes, with approximately 80% unaware of their condition.
