Humana names James Holland as Medicaid president, effective Aug. 17
Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) announced that James "J.P." Holland will join the company as senior vice president and president of Medicaid, effective August 17, according to a press release.
Holland will lead Humana's Medicaid business, which serves more than 1.6 million members across 11 states. He will report to Aaron Martin, president of Insurance.
Holland most recently served as president and CEO of Johns Hopkins Health Plans, where he oversaw Medicaid, Medicare, and other government-sponsored businesses. Before that, he was CEO of the Alliance Business at Elevance Health and held leadership roles at Amerigroup and WellCare Health Plans.
Earlier in his career, Holland served as a U.S. Navy pilot. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
