Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY) announced plans to build a manufacturing campus at Generation Park in Houston, Texas, representing an approximately $2.3 billion investment. The campus is expected to create nearly 500 permanent skilled jobs and approximately 2,000 construction and other indirect jobs between 2027 and 2030.

The approximately 600,000 square foot facility will be designed as a modular, multi-modal campus capable of manufacturing small molecules, biologics, and antibody-drug conjugates. The modular design allows manufacturing capacity to be added or reconfigured as pipeline and commercial needs change.

According to a company statement, the Houston investment is part of a broader $40 billion, five-year commitment to U.S. research and development, technology, and domestic manufacturing. Bristol Myers Squibb said it invested approximately $10 billion in research and development in 2025.

Christopher Boerner, Ph.D., Board Chair and CEO of Bristol Myers Squibb, said: "As part of our $40 billion commitment to the United States, we're building the domestic manufacturing capabilities needed to deliver the next generation of medicines and support future scientific breakthroughs."

The company said it selected the Houston site following a competitive evaluation of multiple markets in the central and eastern United States. Key factors included local workforce availability in life sciences, incentives, proximity to utilities and transportation infrastructure, and business climate.

Planned roles at the facility include operations technicians, production specialists, maintenance and engineering professionals, quality control and assurance experts, and site leadership and administration. Bristol Myers Squibb said the campus is designed to grow in scale and capability beyond its initial configuration.

The company currently works with a contract manufacturer in Texas for commercial and clinical trial manufacturing and said it had 250 clinical trial sites throughout the state in 2025.
