ibex (NASDAQ: IBEX) announced plans to hire 400 employees in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, by the end of 2026, according to a press release issued by the company.

The announcement followed a meeting between ibex CEO Bob Dechant and Honduran President Nasry Asfura and Minister of Investment Epaminondas Marinakys to discuss growth in the country's business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.

ibex opened its Honduras operations in 2021 and currently employs approximately 1,200 customer service agents in the country, making it one of the largest BPOs in Honduras. The company serves clients in the retail, healthcare, fintech, and residential industries.

President Asfura said in the release that ibex is also exploring opportunities to double or triple its Honduras workforce over the next two years. "We are very pleased that ibex will create 400 additional jobs in Honduras before the end of this year," Asfura said.

Dechant described Honduras as a key part of the company's nearshore service delivery strategy. "We have recently added multiple lines of business for top global brands to our Honduras operations," he said.

Minister Marinakys cited the country's bilingual workforce as a competitive advantage for attracting BPO investment. ibex employs more than 36,000 people globally.
