Kyndryl (NYSE: KD) introduced its Agentic Modernization services-as-software on Aug. 6, 2026, built using the Kyndryl Agentic AI Framework and delivered through its Kyndryl Bridge platform.

The offering packages pre-defined agentic workflows designed to support enterprise modernization programs across infrastructure, applications and business transformation initiatives, spanning distributed and mainframe environments, cloud infrastructure, software development and IT operations.

Kyndryl Bridge, which launched in 2022, serves as the underlying technology foundation. The company states the platform is used by more than 1,400 customers, generates more than 16 million AI insights per month and has demonstrated a reduction in IT incidents by up to 50%.

According to a Kyndryl survey of 1,100 business and technology leaders, 77% of executives said generative AI has been scaled across multiple functions of their organization, while only 32% reported experiencing one of their top desired outcomes.

"Modernization is becoming an operating discipline rather than a series of labor-intensive transformation programs that are difficult to scale and disruption-prone," said Ismail Amla, Senior Vice President, Kyndryl Consult.

The company cited several early customer results. A global car rental company is using Kyndryl AI agents to refactor legacy code, reducing hours of manual effort to minutes. A global reinsurer used the service to analyze a mainframe environment with millions of lines of code, reducing data center exit timelines by 50%. A global financial services organization has deployed the service across its engineering teams worldwide.

Bill Latshaw, Research Director, Worldwide Business Consulting Services at IDC, said the approach "reflects that shift, combining pre-defined AI workflows and operational expertise, critically with the governance and guardrails needed to enable organizations to modernize with greater speed and consistency."

The service is designed to allow customers to adopt new AI models and tools without being locked into a specific technology stack, according to the company's press release.
