August 6, 2026 8:33 AM

Elliott Investment Management L.P., which holds a significant investment in Suncor Energy, Inc. (NYSE: SU), issued a statement supporting the company's announced leadership transition.

Suncor President and CEO Rich Kruger is set to move to the role of Executive Vice Chair, effective April 2027. Peter Zebedee has been named as his successor to the CEO position.

"We are also confident that Peter Zebedee is the right successor to Rich, and we look forward to the continuity and momentum his appointment as CEO will bring when he assumes the role next year," Elliott said in the statement.

Elliott also noted that earlier in 2026, Kruger, Zebedee, and the Suncor team outlined a three-year plan for the company. Elliott manages approximately $79.8 billion in assets as of December 31, 2025.
