August 6, 2026 8:17 AM

Largo Inc. (NASDAQ: LGO) has appointed James Bannantine as Co-Chief Executive Officer, the company announced. Bannantine will serve alongside Executive Chairman and Co-CEO Alberto Arias.

The appointment follows the retirement of Daniel Tellechea from the Co-CEO role. Tellechea will remain a company adviser for a period of time and continue as a member of Largo's Board of Directors.

Bannantine has previously served as CEO of Aura Minerals and Great Panther Mining, both Toronto Stock Exchange-listed companies with open pit mining operations in Brazil. He also led the development and sale of the Los Calatos copper molybdenum project in southern Peru. Earlier in his career, he served as South American divisional CEO for an energy and commodities company and worked as a contracting officer for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He holds degrees from West Point and the Wharton School of Business and is a licensed Professional Engineer fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.

In a statement, Bannantine cited Largo's high-purity vanadium business with the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, a project to produce copper and precious group metals as byproducts of vanadium operations, and the company's joint venture Storion Energy as areas of focus.

Largo is a vanadium producer operating the Maracás Menchen Mine in Brazil. The company holds a 37.4% ownership stake in Storion Energy, a joint venture with Stryten Energy focused on vanadium flow battery energy storage solutions in the U.S.
