Palladyne AI's SwarmOS tested at U.S. Army's Project Convergence

August 6, 2026 7:46 AM

Palladyne AI (NASDAQ: PDYN) announced that its SwarmOS platform and Gremlin-X unmanned mini-bomber performed at Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PC-C6), the U.S. Army's division-scale force modernization exercise involving the Joint Force and allied military partners.

PC-C6 marked the second time in less than three months that SwarmOS operated in a multi-drone, multi-vendor autonomous environment. The platform had previously performed at Ivy Mass, the 4th Infantry Division's risk-reduction rehearsal, before advancing to the larger PC-C6 exercise.

At both events, SwarmOS integrated with Anduril's Lattice platform, which supports the Army's Next Generation Command and Control architecture. SwarmOS coordinated Group 1 and Group 2 unmanned aircraft from multiple manufacturers to operate as a single system. During PC-C6 mission scenarios, autonomous intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft identified targets, shared targeting data through the Army's command-and-control environment, and tasked Gremlin-X to engage targets, with a soldier retaining decision authority. SwarmOS then coordinated post-strike battle damage assessment.

At PC-C6, SwarmOS also achieved Impact Level 5 certification, meeting cloud security requirements for higher-sensitivity unclassified mission data and mission-critical command-and-control workflows.

"SwarmOS delivered in both environments, enabling aircraft from multiple manufacturers to find targets, share information, adapt to battlefield changes, and coordinate precision effects while a soldier retained authority over the decision to engage," said Doug Dynes, President of Palladyne Aerospace & Defense.

At Ivy Mass, a single soldier was trained to supervise drones from multiple manufacturers in under 30 minutes, according to the company's statement.

PC-C6 is described as the largest Project Convergence experiment conducted to date. The event brings together the Army, other Joint Force elements, and allied military partners to evaluate how emerging technologies can be integrated into operational formations for large-scale combat operations.
