August 5, 2026 4:07 PM

Zillow Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: Z and ZG) announced several executive changes, including an expanded role for Jeremy Hofmann and a new appointment to a newly created legal position, according to a company press release dated Aug. 5, 2026.

Hofmann, who has served as chief financial officer for nine years, will take on the additional title of chief operating officer. In the combined role, he will oversee both financial strategy and day-to-day operations. The change follows the departure of Jun Choo, who has held the COO role since November 2024 and is stepping down to focus on his health. Choo will serve in an advisory capacity through the end of 2026.

"Jeremy is an exceptional financial and operational leader and a critical strategic partner to the entire executive team and me," said CEO Jeremy Wacksman.

Cassandra "Sandi" Knight has been appointed to the newly created role of chief legal and policy officer, which the company describes as its first such position. Knight joins from Google, where she served as vice president of litigation and discovery. Prior to Google, she held senior roles at PayPal as vice president and chief litigation counsel, and spent 11 years at Morgan Stanley in litigation and compliance. She will report to Wacksman and oversee legal, compliance, and government relations functions.

Zillow also announced two senior vice president promotions. Katie Berroth was promoted to senior vice president of strategy and operations, and Eric Wilson was promoted to senior vice president and general manager of mortgages, overseeing Zillow Home Loans. Both will report to Hofmann.
