Schrödinger strikes AI drug discovery deal with Bristol Myers Squibb
Schrödinger, Inc. (Nasdaq: SDGR) announced a strategic software agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb to deploy Bunsen, Schrödinger's AI co-scientist tool, within BMS's research organization.
Under the agreement, Schrödinger will collaborate with BMS scientists to develop new functionality within Bunsen alongside its computational technologies and RetroSynth, its AI-driven synthesis planning platform. The deal expands on an existing partnership between the two companies.
Bunsen is designed to plan and run molecular discovery workflows using Schrödinger's physics-based computational methods. The tool is intended to help research teams evaluate hypotheses, explore chemical space, and support decision-making ahead of experimental testing.
Robert Abel, Chief Scientific Officer, Platform, at Schrödinger, said the expanded agreement would "empower a broader group of scientists to embrace a predict-first computational approach."
Stephen Johnson, Vice President of Computational Sciences at Bristol Myers Squibb, said Bunsen "allows our scientists to think differently about how physics-based tools can be used to navigate molecular design space and accelerate the discovery of innovative medicines for patients."
