Marvell Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: MRVL) announced new additions to its AI memory infrastructure portfolio at FMS 2026, targeting server-level storage, rack-scale memory expansion, and pod-level optical shared memory for hyperscale and cloud deployments.

The Bravera SC6 is a PCIe 6.0 SSD controller that the company says doubles the performance of its predecessor, the Bravera SC5 PCIe 5.0. The SC6 supports NAND from multiple suppliers and is designed to offload KV cache from high-bandwidth memory to SSD. The controller is expected to begin sampling in Q4 2026.

The Structera X platform targets rack-level memory expansion and pooling using CXL-based architecture, developed in collaboration with hyperscalers. Marvell says it enables larger memory pools and more efficient sharing of resources across servers.

The Photonic Fabric product line includes memory modules, a network interface card, and chiplets designed to create a shared-memory tier spanning multiple racks up to 50 meters. Marvell claims the system supports up to 32TB of KV cache offload and can deliver 2-3x higher token throughput within existing data center footprints, though those figures are based on the company's own statements.

"AI infrastructure is moving beyond isolated servers to systems where compute, memory and connectivity operate seamlessly together," said Will Chu, executive vice president and general manager of Custom Cloud Solutions at Marvell.

Alan Weckel, co-founder and technology analyst at 650 Group, said in the statement that "memory capacity, bandwidth, latency and data movement are becoming primary constraints on AI performance."

The announcements were made at FMS 2026, where Marvell is exhibiting at booth #805.
