Euronet signs SaaS deal with Peru's Unibanca for credit platform
Euronet (NASDAQ: EEFT) announced a multi-year Software-as-a-Service agreement with Unibanca, a Peruvian payment services company, to deploy Euronet's CoreCard credit issuing platform across Peru's financial sector.
Under the agreement, Unibanca will use the CoreCard platform to upgrade its credit issuing infrastructure, enabling it to offer credit solutions to banks and fintechs operating in Peru. CoreCard is built on an API-centric architecture and supports credit cards, Buy Now Pay Later, installment lending, commercial payments, and embedded finance products.
Founded in 1991, Unibanca currently serves 47 financial institutions, including nine credit processing clients, processes more than 482 million transactions annually, and manages approximately 1.5 million accounts.
"This partnership represents an important step in the continued evolution of Unibanca's service offering," said José Carlos Amaya, Chief Executive Officer of Unibanca. "Together with Euronet and CoreCard, we are adding a state-of-the-art technology platform that will enable our clients to introduce innovative credit products faster, better serve larger financial institutions and fintechs, and continue expanding the value we deliver to the market."
"Financial institutions today need more than a processor, they need a technology partner capable of helping them continuously innovate," said Oscar Muñoz, Vice President, Commercial Operations and Revenue Growth, Americas, Euronet.
Euronet described the agreement as a milestone following its acquisition of CoreCard, extending the platform into the Peruvian market. Euronet operates in more than 200 countries and territories and processed more than 20 billion transactions across its network in 2025.
