Skillsoft (NYSE: SKIL) has introduced AI Coach, a new coaching feature integrated into its Percipio platform, according to a company press release. The tool is designed to provide personalized, AI-generated coaching to employees based on their role, goals, and required skills.

AI Coach is built on coaching principles from the International Coaching Federation, including active listening, reflective questioning, goal setting, and accountability. The feature connects to Skillsoft's existing learning resources and its CAISY practice tool, allowing coaching to align with available training content.

The company says the product is intended to extend coaching access beyond senior executives and high-potential employees, groups that have traditionally been the primary recipients of corporate coaching programs.

Gina Smith, Research Director at IDC, was quoted in the release: "Most coaching investments to date have expensive, exec-only programs disconnected from the rest of an organization's skills and learning strategy. That model doesn't scale, and it doesn't connect to the skills data organizations actually need to act on."

Bernie Barbour, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Skillsoft, said: "By bringing AI Coach into the Skillsoft platform, we can extend coaching to more employees and leaders, and connect that experience to the skills, learning, and practice that they need to grow and drive better business outcomes."

AI Coach is currently available to select customers through an early access program.
