Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (NASDAQ: CLNE) has announced a series of new fueling and fleet agreements across Western Canada, adding compressed natural gas (CNG) customers in the refuse, freight, logistics, and oilfield services sectors, according to a company press release.

Through its partnership with Tourmaline (TSX: TOU), Clean Energy has opened new CNG stations in Grande Prairie and Chilliwack, bringing its Canadian network to five locations, including Edmonton, Calgary, and Kamloops.

Several companies have committed to adding trucks powered by the Cummins X15N 15-litre natural gas engine. Nortrans Freight Management has ordered five additional X15N-equipped trucks after a trial period, noting a total investment of more than $3 million CAD in CNG tractors over two years. Mullen Dedicated Logistics is adding seven new X15N trucks, while Integrity Waste Solutions is expanding with 10 additional natural gas trucks, including three X15N models. Prairie Waste Solutions is adding seven natural gas trucks, three of which use the X15N engine.

Other fleet additions include GFL Environmental with three X15N units, Caron Transportation Systems with five X15N trucks, Reimer Brothers with four X15N trucks marking its first use of natural gas, Trican Well Service with three X15N trucks, and Sniper Services deploying one X15N-powered tri-drive vehicle rated to haul up to 140,000 pounds in Alberta's oilfield operations.

Environmental e360 is deploying 15 natural gas trucks for refuse collection in Chilliwack, fueling at the newly opened Clean Energy Tourmaline station there.

Cody Brookwell, Director of Sales and Business Development at Clean Energy, said CNG costs "40-50% less than diesel" and that the X15N engine "closes the technology gap for fleets that haul heavy and put a lot of miles on the truck every year."
