Emerson launches DeltaV automation platform targeting data centers

August 3, 2026 9:02 AM

Emerson (NYSE: EMR) has introduced the DeltaV Automation Platform for Data Centers, a unified monitoring and control system designed to manage critical infrastructure across thermal, mechanical and electrical subsystems in data center facilities.

The platform combines Emerson's DeltaV distributed control system (DCS) and DeltaV programmable logic controllers (PLCs), which the company says work together natively to provide facility-wide process control. Both systems include embedded AI tools intended to support engineering workflows, advanced process control and integration of AI optimization models.

According to the company, the platform is structured to decouple hardware and software during project execution, allowing parallel workstreams and standardized equipment-level designs intended to compress project timelines. Emerson says the architecture replaces separate point solutions with a single integrated system from the project design phase onward.

"Data center performance is no longer defined by individual components alone, but by how effectively critical systems work together," said Nathan Pettus, president of Emerson's process systems and solutions business. "The DeltaV Automation Platform for Data Centers gives operators the unified visibility and coordinated control they need to commission projects predictably, operate reliably at scale and meet aggressive timelines."

Pettus added that the platform targets what he described as the limitations of fragmented automation architectures in AI-scale data centers, stating it is "built on intelligent, unified automation architectures instead of isolated systems."

Emerson is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The announcement was made Aug. 3, 2026, based on a company press release.
