Modular Medical plans five-city rollout of Pivot insulin pump in 2026

Modular Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ: MODD) announced plans to begin the first phase of commercialization of its Pivot tubeless patch pump across five U.S. markets in October 2026, according to a company press release.

The initial launch will cover Atlanta, Cincinnati/Lexington, Dallas, Houston, and Philadelphia. The company selected these markets following an analysis of national insurance claim, prescription, and market adoption data across more than 100 U.S. markets.

According to claims data from PurpleLab for the 24 months ended June 2025, the five markets collectively account for 14% of the nation's highest-volume insulin pump prescribers, 15% of all new insulin pump starts, and 21% of prescribers with a historically high affinity for new brand adoption among patients using multiple daily injections (MDI).

The Pivot is a tubeless patch pump designed for patients managing diabetes with multiple daily injections who have not transitioned to pump therapy.

"Despite meaningful advances in insulin pump technology, millions of people who rely on multiple daily injections have yet to adopt pump therapy because existing options can be perceived as too complex, burdensome, expensive, or difficult to integrate into everyday life," said Jeb Besser, CEO of Modular Medical.

To support the launch, Modular Medical has entered into a partnership with Inizio, a commercialization services firm with operations in metabolic health and diabetes care. Inizio will provide commercial execution, provider engagement, and launch support resources.
