Eldorado Gold names new board chair and lead independent director
Eldorado Gold Corporation (NYSE: EGO) announced a board leadership transition, with Steven Reid stepping down as chair after more than five years in the role and 13 years as a director.
Effective July 30, 2026, Dan Myerson has been appointed chair of the board and Patrick Godin has been named lead independent director. The company said the changes are part of a previously announced board succession and renewal process.
Myerson joined Eldorado's board following the company's acquisition of Foran Mining Corporation and had served as deputy chair. He previously served as chief executive officer and executive chair of Foran, where he led development of the McIlvenna Bay Project. Before Foran, he held senior roles with Glencore's Canadian zinc business and global trading group.
Godin brings more than 40 years of mining industry experience, with a background spanning mine construction, operations, safety performance and corporate growth initiatives. As lead independent director, he will serve as a liaison among independent directors, the chair and management.
Chief Executive Officer George Burns attributed Reid's tenure with guiding the company through the advancement of the Skouries project, the acquisition of Foran and McIlvenna Bay, and the development of its governance framework.
Eldorado Gold is a gold, copper and base metals producer with operations in Canada, Türkiye and Greece.
