Beyond Meat names new COO and reappoints founder to board

Beyond Meat (NASDAQ: BYND) has hired Brijesh Krishnaswamy as its Chief Operating Officer, according to a company statement. Krishnaswamy is expected to join on a part-time basis beginning August 24, 2026, transitioning to full-time employment on September 30, 2026.

Krishnaswamy, 52, comes from ofi (Olam Food Ingredients), where he most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer – North America since February 2025. He previously held roles including President & Global Head of Spices and Senior Vice President & Global Head of Spices at the same company, where he worked since 2000.

During his part-time period, Krishnaswamy will receive a base salary of $110,000 per year. Upon conversion to full-time employment, his base salary will increase to $550,000 per year. He is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus targeted at 60% of his base salary, pro-rated for fiscal year 2026. He will also receive up to $100,000 in relocation expense reimbursement, plus tax gross-up payments. Subject to board compensation committee approval, he will receive equity awards valued at $1,200,000 under the company's 2026 Employment Inducement Equity Incentive Plan.

John Boken, who had been serving as interim Chief Transformation Officer and assumed COO duties on an interim basis effective May 17, 2026, will no longer perform those duties once Krishnaswamy's full-time employment begins.

Separately, Beyond Meat's board appointed Ethan Brown, the company's founder, President, and CEO, as a Class III director on July 28, 2026. Brown, 55, previously served on the board from the company's founding in 2009 until October 15, 2025. His new term is set to expire in 2028. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Raphael Thomas Wallander on May 28, 2026.
