ADM (NYSE: ADM) announced plans to expand oilseed crush capacity at four U.S. facilities, citing demand for renewable fuels and vegetable oil markets, according to a company press release.

The targeted improvements will be made at existing facilities in Frankfort, Indiana; Deerfield, Missouri; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Spiritwood, North Dakota. Combined, the projects are expected to unlock approximately 700,000 metric tons of additional annual crush capacity, which the company says equates to more than 25 million bushels of new demand for American farmers.

Work at the Frankfort and Lincoln facilities will focus on storage improvements and debottlenecking, with completion expected in late 2028. The Deerfield location will receive upgrades to conveying, flaking, extraction, and utility systems, with work expected to finish in late 2028 or early 2029. The Spiritwood facility, operated through the Green Bison joint venture with Marathon Petroleum Corporation, will undergo operational optimization and equipment improvements, with completion targeted for mid-2028.

"These investments reflect ADM's continued focus on targeted growth opportunities in areas where long-term demand trends are creating new opportunities for farmers and customers," said Gary McGuigan, president of ADM's North America Ag Services and Oilseeds business.

ADM said it is also evaluating additional North American crush locations for similar future investments. The announced projects follow prior investments including upgrades at the company's Clinton, Iowa, corn facility and capacity expansions at its elevator in Optima, Oklahoma.
