Veritone, Inc. (NASDAQ: VERI) has added AI-powered document redaction to its Veritone Redact platform, expanding the product to handle documents, images, audio, and video within a single application, according to a company statement.

The updated platform is built on Veritone's aiWARE enterprise AI system and combines automated AI processing with human review. The company said the expansion targets federal government agencies, law enforcement, legal entities, and State, Local and Education (SLED) organizations.

Veritone said the addition addresses demand from customers who previously relied on separate tools for different media types. The company cited use cases such as police departments handling body camera footage alongside district attorneys managing case documents, as well as city governments processing Freedom of Information Act requests and school districts protecting student records.

"As we looked at how our customers were using Veritone Redact, it became clear that document redaction was the next logical capability to add," said Ryan Steelberg, CEO of Veritone. "Thanks to the underlying power and flexibility of our aiWARE platform, we were able to seamlessly add document redaction to the platform they already know and trust."

Veritone said it plans to include document redaction for all existing customers.
