Terrestrial Energy names Pamela Cowan as EVP of Engineering
Terrestrial Energy Inc. (Nasdaq: IMSR) has appointed Pamela Cowan as Executive Vice President of Engineering, effective immediately, according to a company press release. Cowan will be based at the company's Charlotte, N.C. headquarters and report to CEO Simon Irish.
Cowan brings more than 30 years of nuclear industry experience. She previously held executive roles at Westinghouse Electric Company, where she had responsibility for operating plant services in the Americas, global engineered products and services, and outage field services. She also served as a senior vice president at Holtec International and as chief operating officer of one of Holtec's principal businesses.
Earlier in her career, Cowan held leadership roles at nuclear generating companies including Exelon Generation (Constellation), American Electric Power, and PSEG, where she held a senior reactor operator license.
In her new role, Cowan will lead Terrestrial Energy's engineering program, serve as the company's designated technical authority for nuclear safety and licensing, and work with commercial leadership on customer and supplier relationships.
"Pam adds exceptional industry leadership and technical experience at an ideal time as the company expands its engineering and regulatory programs," said Irish.
Terrestrial Energy is currently advancing its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) plant design through Nuclear Regulatory Commission review.
