Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ: CSIQ) announced that its U.S.-manufactured TOPCon and HJT Low Carbon HP solar modules have received FM Approvals recognition under the FM 4478 and FM 4480 identified component standards.

According to the company, the modules are the first FM Approvals photovoltaic modules listed as identified components for severe hail zones.

To receive the FM listing, the modules underwent testing across three areas: hail damage resistance testing per the ANSI/FM 4480 standard for ground-mounted or elevated photovoltaic module systems; design qualification and type approval testing under IEC/EN 61215 series standards; and safety qualification testing per IEC/EN 61730-2 and ANSI/UL 61730 requirements.

FM Approvals is a third-party testing and certification agency founded as a business unit of FM Global that evaluates loss prevention products for commercial and industrial facilities.
