Check Point Software Technologies (NASDAQ: CHKP) announced the Check Point AI Network Firewall, delivered as part of firewall software release R82.20, according to a company press release dated July 30, 2026.

The product is designed to provide security teams with visibility and control over AI-related network traffic — including prompts, autonomous agent actions, and sensitive business data — from existing Check Point physical or virtual firewalls, without requiring new infrastructure.

The announcement covers three areas of protection: employee AI application use, Model Context Protocol (MCP) server communications, and AI application and large language model (LLM) traffic. Check Point Research data cited in the release found that between 87% and 93% of organizations experience at least one high-risk generative AI interaction per month, and that the share of prompts containing sensitive data doubled in one year to roughly one in every 25 interactions.

Additional findings from Check Point Research included security weaknesses in 40% of 10,000 MCP servers reviewed, and 15,300 indirect prompt-injection payloads identified in public web pages.

The AI Network Firewall is described as part of Check Point's broader AI Defense Plane, which the company says spans network, endpoint, cloud, applications, and APIs. Check Point also said it is extending central policy management to its SASE and SD-WAN products, with integrations including third-party tools such as Illumio.

"By bringing AI security into the firewall organizations already run, we give security teams the visibility and control to enable AI adoption safely, in real time," said Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point.

IDC Research Manager Pete Finalle noted that native integration of AI security across existing enforcement points, while rare, can improve visibility, telemetry, security posture, and management simplicity.
