July 29, 2026 4:32 PM

Dakota Gold Corp. (NYSE American: DC) announced leadership changes, with Jack Henris set to become Chief Executive Officer on Aug. 18, 2026, replacing Dr. Robert Quartermain, who will retire from the role after serving since November 2024.

Dr. Quartermain will remain with the company as Co-Chair and Director of Dakota Gold's Board of Directors. He cited two completed objectives during his tenure: advancing the Richmond Hill Gold Project in South Dakota to pre-feasibility stage and securing funding for planned programs through 2028. The company reported $107 million in cash in its March 2026 financial statements.

Henris joined Dakota Gold a year ago as President and Chief Operating Officer. He began his career at the Homestake Mine in 1987. In a statement, Henris said he looks forward to advancing what he described as having "the potential to responsibly develop what could become the largest gold-producing mine in South Dakota."

The company also announced that Shawn Campbell will be appointed Chief Development Officer, taking responsibility for shareholder engagement and sourcing construction financing for Richmond Hill. Amy Koenig will continue as SVP, Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary, and will also manage permitting processes as Dakota Gold prepares to file a large-scale mine permit later in 2026.

Dakota Gold's Richmond Hill and Maitland Gold projects are located on private land within the Homestake District of South Dakota. The company is targeting production at Richmond Hill as soon as 2029, according to the press release.
