GEO Group wins ICE contract for North Carolina detention facility

The GEO Group, Inc. (NYSE: GEO) has entered into a five-year support services contract with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to activate a federal immigration processing center at its company-owned Rivers Facility in Winton, North Carolina.

The 1,320-bed facility is expected to generate approximately $80 million in annual revenues during its first full year of operations. Services under the contract will include exclusive use of the facility by ICE, along with security, maintenance, and food services, as well as access to recreational amenities, medical care, and legal counsel.

George C. Zoley, GEO's Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, said, "We expect that our company-owned Rivers Facility in Winton, North Carolina will play an important role in helping meet the need for increased federal immigration processing center bedspace."

The GEO Group operates 97 facilities totaling approximately 76,000 beds across the United States, Australia, South Africa, and the United Kingdom, with a workforce of up to approximately 20,000 employees.
