Saudi Arabia intercepts drones targeting Eastern Province oil sites
Investing.com -- Saudi Arabia's air defense systems destroyed multiple drones that tried to attack oil facilities in the Eastern Province on Tuesday, according to the kingdom's defense ministry.
Defense ministry spokesperson Turki al-Maliki stated on X that the drones originated from Iraqi territory. He attributed the attack to Iran-backed terrorist militias.
Al-Maliki said Saudi Arabia maintains its right to defend itself and its national capabilities. The kingdom retains the right to respond "at the appropriate time and place," he added.
