Progress Software adds AI agents to Sitefinity CMS platform
Progress Software (NASDAQ: PRGS) announced the addition of agentic AI capabilities to its Progress Sitefinity Generative CMS product, according to a company statement released July 28, 2026.
The new features embed AI agents directly into content management workflows, allowing marketing teams to automate tasks such as content analysis, optimization and editorial review without leaving the platform.
Key additions to Sitefinity Generative CMS include custom AI agents that teams can configure for specific workflow tasks, page-level analysis covering content, metadata and SEO properties, and adaptive learning that adjusts agent behavior based on user feedback. The update also includes conflict-handling controls to manage situations where multiple agents produce competing recommendations, and a natural-language interface called DX Assistant for querying content performance data.
"Enterprise AI is entering its next phase, shifting from AI-assisted engagement to AI-powered digital operations," said Loren Jarrett, EVP and GM, Digital Experience, Progress Software. "With AI agents, content, personalization and deployment flexibility in one platform, organizations can move faster, reduce complexity and scale digital delivery with greater control."
Abu Dhabi University was cited as a customer in the announcement. Tarek El Araby, Group Director of IT and Digital Transformation at the university, said the institution acquired the Sitefinity platform to support what he described as a "digital- and AI-first future" aimed at delivering personalized digital experiences across its community.
Progress Software is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.
