Star Gold plans 11-hole drill program at Nevada gold-silver project

July 28, 2026 6:10 AM

Star Gold Corp. (OTCQB: SRGZ) has finalized the design of an 11-hole HQ core drill program at its wholly owned Longstreet Gold-Silver Project in Nye County, Nevada, according to a company statement dated July 28, 2026. Earthwork to establish drill site access is underway.

The campaign is structured to advance resource definition, metallurgy, hydrology, and permitting simultaneously within the project's existing permitted drilling footprint. One hole will serve as a vertical exploration water production well below the Main resource area. Eight angled holes at -45 degrees will target resource definition and expansion adjacent to the Main zone and are also intended to generate metallurgical test material. The remaining two vertical holes will be completed as monitor wells with piezometers, one of which will be drilled to 800 feet to test the Opal Ridge target at depth for the first time.

The company said recovering HQ diameter core on every hole, including those drilled for hydrologic purposes, was a deliberate choice to yield representative assay data and sufficient sample volume for metallurgical test work without a separate program. All core will be logged, cut, and stored in Tonopah, Nevada, with samples transported to ALS Global in Reno for assay.

"Every hole in this campaign is asked to answer more than one question, and the water and monitor wells give us hydrologic data that a permit application will eventually demand," said Lindsay Gorrill, President and Chief Executive Officer of Star Gold.

Hydrologic characterization is a requirement for mine permitting in Nevada. The company said establishing baseline groundwater data ahead of a formal permit application, and testing whether the district can supply water for an operation, both sit on the critical path to a production decision. Assay results will be reported as received and validated.

The Longstreet Project spans approximately 2,600 acres, comprising 137 unpatented mining claims and five additional unpatented claims held under lease with an option to purchase.
