Ameresco Sunel Energy SA, a joint venture between Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE: AMRC) and SUNEL Group, has announced a contract to provide engineering, procurement, construction, and operation and maintenance services for a 58 MWp solar photovoltaic facility in Iratosu, Arad County, Romania.

The project is owned and developed by TDI Renewables Ltd, a UK-registered energy company focused on utility-scale solar, wind, and energy storage projects across Central and Eastern Europe. The facility is designed with an installed capacity of 48 MWac / 58 MWp and will include a 33 kV/110 kV substation and underground cable works connecting to Romania's grid.

According to the press release, the project is expected to offset approximately 53,920 metric tons of CO₂ annually. The project was included in Ameresco's previously reported awarded backlog as of March 31, 2026.

"This project marks another milestone in our expanding presence in Romania," said Pete Christakis, Chief Operating Officer of Ameresco.

The Iratosu project adds to Ameresco Sunel Energy SA's existing Romanian portfolio, which includes a previously announced set of solar parks totaling 466 MWp in the southwestern part of the country.
