L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has signed a framework agreement with the Department of War and Lockheed Martin to expand production of propulsion components for the PAC-3 Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptor, according to a press release from the company.

The seven-year agreement, described as L3Harris' largest PAC-3 propulsion contract to date, is expected to allow the company to nearly triple production of a range of propulsion products. The contract is expected to be definitized later this year.

The agreement covers production of the PAC-3 MSE's two-pulse solid rocket motor, Attitude Control Motors, and the Lethality Enhancer, an explosive device designed to increase the interceptor's kill radius against threats including cruise missiles.

"This critical, long-term agreement will allow us to continue to move at unprecedented speed and produce PAC-3 propulsion at rates never before seen," said Ken Bedingfield, President of Missile Solutions at L3Harris.

L3Harris manufactures PAC-3 MSE motors at a facility in Camden, Arkansas, which includes automated digital X-ray equipment and dedicated processing bays. The company said it is investing in approximately 60 facilities and nearly one million square feet of manufacturing and office space across solid rocket motor production sites in Alabama, Virginia, and Arkansas.
