Kratos delivers turbomachinery for Lockheed Martin ramjet missile program
Kratos Defense & Security Solutions (Nasdaq: KTOS) announced it has developed, tested, and delivered turbomachinery components supporting Lockheed Martin's advanced ramjet propulsion system for a missile program backed by the U.S. Army.
According to a press release, Kratos designed a compact turbomachinery solution that uses ram air energy to support propulsion system operations. The company completed a standalone test campaign to validate operating points, component durability, and performance before the component was integrated into the broader propulsion system.
The propulsion system test, witnessed by representatives from Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army's Aviation and Missile Center, validated the system's readiness to advance toward flight testing. The test demonstrated that the missile's core propulsion is ready to support what the company described as "near-term fielding plans."
